The boys from county hell

http://www.myspace.com/theoriginalboysfromcountyhell

The Boys from County Hell formed 20 years ago with a chance meeting at an Irish Folk Music festival. Although their drink fuelled, high energy interpretation of “folk music” was frowned upon by the many traditionalists there, “The Boys” decided to take it further, and  started on the local pub circuit, and were soon gigging in Irish pubs up and down the country.

They released their first CD in 1992 “So far, so What?”, described as a biographic collection of songs on “drinking… shagging… and betting”.

Highlights in their 20 year history include tours of Europe, appearances on HTV’s First Cut , a Radio 1 sound city performance, and St Patricks Day bookings in New York for 3 years in succession. The band has had many line-up changes over the years, but still gives an entertaining show with old and new material.

Having not played in Chippenham since their legendary open air gigs outside the old Porter Blacks during Chippenham Folk Festival…… the Boys are Back in Town…. and looking forward to their first Namfest!!!

Bad Lizard

Bad Lizard have been playing the local Wiltshire scene (& further a field) for a few years now. They play an eclectic mix of funky riff-rock, tongue-in-cheek style guitar music & always rock out to the max. This power trio who are Tim (Tufty) Harding on Drums & backing vocal, Ben Slater on Guitar & lead vocal & Simon Walker on Bass & old lady have been pushing the boundaries of Funcountrock & have been compared to the chillies, Rage against the Machine & Tenacious D.

They’ve won a ‘Battle Of The Band’ competition & it’s easy to see why. Their songs are catchy, they always put on a great show & obviously enjoy what they do.
